What is Athens?
Who can register?
How do I register?
Athens is the name of a system that identifies you as an authorised user of a number of electronic resources using one username and password.  Athens enables you to access services from work and off site (e.g. from home or overseas).
Anyone working with the NHS in the London region may register for an NHS Athens account. Students working on placement in the NHS are also eligible for a temporary access account.

You can register online if you are using a computer connected to NHSNet. Click here for the online registration form.

You can register by visiting your home Library where library staff are happy to help you set up your account.

What services can I access?

If you forget your password you can reset it online if you can remember your username. Click here for the online form.

You may also contact your home Library for assistance if you have problems.

Athens gives access to all the electronic resources available locally, regionally and nationally, including: databases (such as Medline, CINAHL, Embase, PsycINFO, British Nursing Index, AMED, HMIC), full text nursing & medical ejournals.
To view a list of the services available to you login at the MyAthens page. You may also check your registration details and see the expiry date of your account at MyAthens.
