Title: North West Film Archive Cultural Diversity
Description: A range of productions - amateur and professional - illustrating life in the North West and including representations of Black and Asian people. Examples include Black and Asian community group productions dramatising issues such as racism experienced by young people; an extensive video study by a South American visual anthropologist of the work of a Pakistani women's organisation (Al Masoom); glimpses of Black and Asian people in a record of life amongst the terraced streets of Salford; and scenes in a Lancashire school on the first day for a white and an Asian boy.
These productions are distributed throughout the NWFA's entire holdings and can be identified via keyword searches on the online catalogue.
