-
- Title: Education Collection: Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Archive
- Description: The Archive has a large collection of teacher reference material consisting of academic and practitioner research and guides to best practice in various aspects of anti-racist education. These include books (approximately 130), reports, journals (2 active), videos (10) and newspaper cuttings. Their time span is mostly 1960s to the present. This collection is suitable for teachers wishing to develop anti-racist practise, for students and for research purposes. The collection is housed in a separate section of the Archive.
There is also a collection of 15 loan boxes, which have been created in response to teacher requests for material to use in school. These boxes include published material (and some audio-visual material), at lower reading levels appropriate to children. The boxes are themed to reflect areas of the National Curriculum, for example Key Stage 2 ‘Britain Since the 1930’s’, Key Stage 3 ‘Britain trade and empire’, or areas of particular interest for example ‘Black pioneers – biographies’. They are available for loan in the Greater Manchester area for use in schools, youth clubs, community groups and supplementary schools.
