MS 3051/4/43 Compilation of newscuttings, letters and other notes, including 2 series of articles: 'The Making of the West Indies: the Gordons as colonists' published in the Banffshire Advertiser in 1913-14, analysing the papers of the Slave Compensation Commission (following the Act of 1833 for the abolition of slavery in the British colonies), and 'A Portsoy family as Empire builders - Pioneers in Tobago', published in the Banffshire Herald. 1 vol., c300 pages, c.1913-1928. MS 3051/1/13/3-4 are manuscript submissions of the serialised articles noted above, 2 files of 37 and 36 pages.
