- Title: Papers of Duff family, Earls of Fife, known as Duff House (Montcoffer) papers, 1500-1960
- Description: This very extensive family and estate archive of 1300 volumes, 1500 boxes and 533 plans incorporates 9 bundles of papers containing detailed information on the administration of the Lucky Hill and Friendship Estates of Gibson Dalzell and his successors in St Mary's Parish, Jamaica, during the period 1739-1789. Correspondence includes reports on unrest amongst slaves and political circumstances and accounts, bills of lading for sugar and molasses, slave lists and prices, estate plans and evaluation, land sales. Other correspondence throughout the collection comments on political, military and personal issues. The bundles of archival manuscripts and plans are located at Shelfmark MS3175 within the library's Historic Collections: specifically MS 3175/Z61; /Z183; /Z198; /Z204; Z208; /Z214; /Z216; /Z227; and /B2(56)1.
