Title: TUC Publications
Description: These publications comprise pamphlets and booklets produced by the TUC departments and sub-committees. Labour party publications were produced by the TUC. The publications are largely reports covering areas such as Economic and Social Affairs; Organisation and Services - Education, Pensions, Law, Training; Equal Rights - Women's rights, Black workers' rights, Lesbian and Gay workers' rights; Europe; International; Campaigns; TUC History.
Strengths: The TUC Equal Rights Department produces documents and materials on current legislation e.g. Asylum and Immigration Act, Race Discrimination Act 1976, training for shop stewards and issues facing Black and Asian workers in the labour market such as racism, discrimination and representation. The Commonwealth Trade Union Council also produces a number of publications including reports to the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting on subjects like globalisation, social justice, development, trade and investment.

Access: Access for all users is by appointment only and at the discretion of the Librarian. Under normal circumstances, academic users must be at postgraduate level, but undergraduates may use the Collection with the written authorisation of their supervisor. TUC staff and other trade union staff and officials will be given access, as will other external users who are pursuing research interests which cannot easily be met elsewhere. The collections are available for reference purposes only.
The library's opening hours for visitors are Monday - Friday 9.15 - 16.45. It is closed at weekends and public holidays, with longer breaks Christmas and New Year.
There is no charge for access. There is wheelchair access.
