Description: The library is a Special Collection Library. There are approximately 100, 000 titles covering the history and topography of the Greater London area containing 20,000 primary sources and 80,000 secondary sources. The physical characterisitics are as follows: 20,000 thread bound volumes; 80,000 printed books, pamphlets, reports, monographs and periodicals. The language is English , with some translated items. Accrual policy - selective; accrual method - purchase with some deposits.
Strengths: Specialist collection on the history of London that is particularly strong on the nineteenth and twentieth century government of London. Primary sources are official publications of London's governing bodies - unique record of successive governing administrations' work, including work for Black and Asian population of Greater London.
