  • Pamphlets and Reports - Published and unpublished reports, including government publications, academic research reports and reports from advocacy groups.
  • Periodicals - Core journals in the field as well as approximately 200 journals and newsletters of small organisations/advocacy groups.
  • Newspapers - A range of ethnic minority newspapers, including the Voice, Asian Times and Muslim News.
  • Press cuttings - A collection of press cuttings arranged by subject. The collection includes the Commission for Racial Equality’s collection dating from 1970 to the present.
  • Videos - The Resources Centre has a collection of over 700 video recordings of relevant television broadcasts.
  • Ephemeral Material - Produced by voluntary organisations and pressure groups.

In total there are over 7000 pamphlets and reports in the collection and c.200 periodicals and newsletters. 12 newspapers specific to ethnic minority communities in the UK are also housed in the Resources Centre (7 active; 5 non-active), along with over 600 files of press cuttings. The CRER's video collection is housed in the University of Warwick Library.

In addition to printed and audio-visual material, the CRER also has the following online resources:

A web-base guide to resources in ethnic relations is also currently under development.

Related archival material includes the Minority Arts Archive (1976-1996) of the now defunct Minority Arts Advisory Service (MAAS), acquired in 1996 and housed in the University of Warwick's Modern Records Centre. A separate collection description about this resource is available on the CASBAH database.

Strengths: The Resources Centre holds material on the experiences of ethnic minorities in Britain from the early eighties to date. The collection includes resources on education, employment, immigration, refugees and asylum seekers, statistical material, health and racism, and is strong in all these areas. Many items in the Resources Centre are unavailable elsewhere, and its collection of grey literature is unique.
Size: Over 7000 pamphlets and reports, .200 periodicals, 750 videos and approx. 600 files of press cuttings and ephemera.
