Administrative/Biographical history: Diocese of Gloucester; ecclesiastical parishes of Bussage (1848), Chalford (1842), France Lynch (1894) and Oakridge (1849) were formed from Bisley; Stroud was anciently a chapelry of Bisley; Chalford, Bussage and France Lynch formed separate civil parish of Chalford in 1849.

Archival history: Deposited by Vicar and PCC, except items P47a IN 3/1-3/2, OV 1/1-1/9, OV 2/1/18, OV 7/1, OV 8/1 and MI 1-3, which were found in the roof of Bisley Church School and were given by the Gloucestershire Education Committee in 1950, and items P47a OV 1/10-1/23, MI 4/1-4/11, 5/1-5/7 and 6/1, which were deposited by Bisley Parish Council
