Administrative/Biographical history: Sukhivinder Singh Ubhi is the official photographer for the Namdhari Community Centre and the Ashram Housing Association in Birmingham. He has covered events in the Sikh community across Britain, and his photographs have been published in Birmingham and Punjabi newspapers. His images of the 1999 Vaisakhi Festival were exhibited at Soho House Museum in Birmingham

Scope and content: Sukhi Ubhi’s photographs document the Birmingham Sikh community’s Vaisakhi celebrations of 1993 and 1999. As well as images of the procession through the city, the collection also includes portraits of many of the civic leaders and performers involved in the festival.
