Scope and content: Records include circulars from the All-India Trade Union Congress, the Trade Union Council of Jamaica and a report on Gold Coast Unions. The All -India Congress was founded in 1920 and in 1945 had over half a members from some of the biggest unions in India. The India Federation of Labour, considered a rival union, was brought into existence in December 1941, at the inspiration of the British Government in Indian. The report explains the nationalism underpinning the AITUC. Members signing the report were S.A. Dange, R.A.Khedgikar and S.K.Pramanik (London 1945) The Union Council of Jamaica: provides a history of the union, the break with Bustemante's union and the branches under its wing.
