CONTENT AND STRUCTURE AREA
Scope and content: The collection comprises certificates of discharge, wage slips, ration books, identity cards, general clothing books, leaflets and newspaper cuttings from members of the Johnson and Christian families.

Included are certificates of discharge for David Christian and James Johnson (b.1883); identity cards for Jeanne W. Christian (1947) and Anthony Roger Christian (1950); ration books for Jeane. W Christian and David Christian (1953 - 1954) Clothing and General clothing books for Jeane W Johnson and James Johnson; wage slips of David Christian, Jeanne W. Johnson (nee Christian); and National Union of Seamen receipt slips. Also found in the collection is a leaflet entitled, 'Ministry of Shipping - Time Ashore Allowed to Seamen' leaflet, a copy of the St Mary's Parish Magazine (August 1944) and a newspaper cutting with picture of A.B. Edward Edghill recipient of the B.E.M from New Chronicle 8 June 1949. The collection also contains a selection of newspaper cuttings related to the Butetown Police Station filed in 'cuttings file'.
