Name of creator(s): Committee on Training in Public Administration for Overseas Countries
Administrative/Biographical history: The Committee was set up in December 1961, to advise the Secretary for Technical Co-operation on the training facilities in public administration and related subjects provided in the UK for government servants and other public employees from overseas, and the arrangements for assistance from the UK in building up local facilities in this field; and report on their adequacy for present and forseeable future demand. It met several times over the next year, receiving written and oral evidence from numerous parties, and reported back at the end of 1962.
Archival history: The records are presumed (from internal evidence) to have been accumulated by Mrs EM Chilver, a member of the Committee, and remained in her custody until they were donated to the Institute of Commonwealth Studies at an unknown date.
